COMMERCIAL PV DESIGN ENGINEER
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Commercial PV Design Engineer, you will assume a crucial role in the strategic planning and meticulous design of photovoltaic (PV) arrays and battery energy storage systems (BESS). The PV Design Engineer will be responsible for taking initial system concept ideas and turns them into fully detailed construction ready designs. Working on commercial, and utility scale solar projects, the Design Engineer has a steady pipeline of diverse projects to design. Coordinating with customers, the Design Engineer balances the necessity of a customer solution with the efficiency of standard practices. Responsibilities will span from evaluating meteorological data to conducting solar energy resource assessments and optimizing designs. Team member will work closely with lead engineers and clients on the PV Solar and BESS portion of projects to:
-
Provide technical support to Commercial Sales, and Finance for the development of technical proposals and customer presentations.
-
To provide technical advice and guide commercial solar and battery projects through the sales process.

Participate in meetings and technical presentations if needed with customers and internal teams.
-
Support Sales team with ongoing technical support, RFI’s and As-builts as needed.
-
Develop necessary customer deliverables such as concept module layouts, single line diagrams, equipment or material specifications, engineering validation, 3-D renderings and photo simulations.

Assist with Request for Proposal (RFP’s) review, technical writing, and response coordination.
-
Design and engineer commercial & utility scale PV solar systems between 50kW & 10MW in size

Interface and provide streamlined project information and detailed bill of materials to the procurement managers

Contributing to or writing technical papers
-
Manage the scope of services, including preparing conceptual designs, project deliverables, construction administration, and project closeout
-
Work in collaboration with Clients and Owners to develop project scope of Work documents for proposals and contracts
-
Configure the system DC and AC one-line diagram to the point of connection in coordination with the electrical engineer
-
Coordinate technical aspects of the design with the structural, civil, electrical, technology, and architectural teams
-
Develop detailed equipment specifications including solar PV inverters, solar modules, wire sizes, electrical service panels and method of interconnection.

Reviewing engineering exhibits related to production and design

Developing energy models and applying modeling techniques

Creating and maintaining a database of design records for future reference

Initiating and maintaining contacts with key engineers in other companies, suppliers, and industry associations

Design/Support commercial and grid supplied Solar Photovoltaic systems.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The Commercial Solar Design Engineer must have a solid technical understanding of Solar PV (including rooftop, ground mounts and carport/canopy systems, and ideally including Battery Energy Storage systems); know how to read, understand and edit electrical and structural plans; have experience in commercial construction; and have current knowledge of Building codes and construction standards.

3+years of project management experience in the design of PV solar and BESS systems

Management, Engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of relevant education, training and experience

Understanding of building codes and utility requirements
-
Must be fluent with AutoCAD, BlueBeam, PVSyst, Microsoft Office (Excel, and Outlook), and other design and management software programs used to maintain data, generate reports and stay organized.

Understanding of budgeting and cash flow is a big plus.

Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related program.
-
Proficiency in solar meteorological data, with experience in solar energy simulation modeling, independent engineering, and design analysis.

Proficient understanding of technical designs, engineering principles, business standards, practices, procedures, and product requirements.

Demonstrates experience in researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, and providing recommendations.

Strong desire to work with team members and maintain client relationships

Demonstrated previous success with project design from inception to completion

Fieldwork will be expected and require interaction with client personnel

Adequate knowledge of National Electrical Code

Excellent ability to communicate among construction, technical and non-technical personnel, both internally and outside the company
Preferred:

Ability to perform financial and technical energy feasibility studies

Energy modeling and data analysis for evaluating energy efficient measures

Experience with commissioning

Interest in developing the firm’s sustainable marketability

Strongly preferred degree from a school accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET)

DIRECTOR OF SALES

POSITION OVERVIEW
The director of sales should possess a min. of 3 years experience selling solar modules to C&I and utility scale developers. The sales director will be responsible for selling Translucent Energy’s solar modules (Akcome, Tier-1) and energy storage products to C&I and utility scale developers. This position plays a key role in developing sales strategies, managing customer relationships, and promoting Translucent Energy’s solar solutions. 
Key team member responsibilities include:

Development and implementation of strategic sales plans to meet predefined sales goals.

Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and potential customers to best suit their need for fully customized solar solutions.

Analysis and assessment of market opportunities and target customer segments to expand Translucent Energy’s market presence.

Collaborating with marketing and product development teams to effectively launch new products and promotional campaigns.
-
Analyze and report sales data, customer feedback, and market trends to make data-driven decisions and advance sales strategies.

Prepare sales forecasts and budget reports to track performance and align with financial goals.

Participate in industry events, trade shows, and conferences to showcase Translucent Energy’s solar products and build industry connections.

Generate potential leads for new accounts.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related program; or equivalent combination of relevant education, training and experience.

Min. 3 years of experience in U.S. Solar panels sales with C&I and Utility scale customers.

Proven experience meeting revenue targets within the U.S. solar C&I and utility customers.

Strong understanding of solar products, technology and contractual content pertaining to the U.S. solar market.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively engage with customers and team members.

Proficiency in sales forecasting, data analysis, and sales reporting.

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships; preferably bringing a network of U.S. solar contacts.
